Collaboration with Erik Juul on the New Concrete Cottage. The concrete is a complex material. It may be ugly, but it can also be extremely beautiful. There is a possibility, that latter will be the case in this proposal for a new summer house which, at the request of the user, uses concrete as the primary material. It is almost on the beach and as a former developer said in connection with a decision on whether they should have a concrete; “Concrete, it’s just a sand that lies still”. We want to convey the experience of it folding up and becoming a house.
